No dance on December 28
There will not be a dance on December 28, however, the dances for December 21 and January 4 are on as scheduled!
Swing Dancing every Wednesday!
We hold a swing dance every Wednesday in Northampton, Massachusetts. We offer various lessons at 6:30pm and 7:30pm, with a DJed dance following at 8:30pm.
The next dance is November 2, 2011.
Prices and times:
- 6:30-7:30pm: lessons in beginning lindy hop (month-long series) and beginning West Coast Swing (month-long series). ($10 including dance, $8 for students with ID)
- 7:30-8:30pm: lessons in intermediate lindy hop (month-long series), intermediate West Coast Swing (month-long series), and East Coast Swing (drop-in). ($10 including dance, $8 for students with ID)
- 8:30-11pm: Dance with a DJ playing a mixture of swing music (lindy, East Coast, and West Coast), with an occasional salsa, hustle, or other ballroom dance tune thrown in. ($5 for the dance only, $3 for students with ID).
- Two lessons and the dance: $15; $10 for students.
The lindy hop lessons and the West Coast Swing lessons are progressive month-long series which begin on the first Wednesday of the month. While no dance experience is necessary to learn either of these dances, we encourage you to start learning on the first Wednesday of any month, when the basics are taught. It's more difficult to start during the later weeks, when the lessons are building on earlier material.
The East Coast Swing lessons start from the basics every week, and are geared towards beginners. Nevertheless, you'll still pick up new moves every week.
To protect our dance floor, please bring a change of clean, dry shoes to dance in.
